Real Madrid will face PSG in the round of 16
Real Madrid against Paris Saint-Germain. Cristiano Ronaldo against Neymar. The historical achievement against the urgent ambition.
The draw for the Champions League on Monday generated a clash between the defending two-time champions and the most outstanding club of the season for the round of 16, which was possible thanks to Real Madrid finished second in their group while the PSG closed that phase to the front.
PSG acquired Neymar from Barcelona for a record 222 million euros (262 million dollars). The Brazilian forward scored in five consecutive wins for the Parisian club to finish over Bayern Munich in their group. Cristiano, by his account, contributed goals in the six commitments of Madrid.
Barcelona, which leads the Spanish league, must face Chelsea.
The draw offers another attractive confrontation between Liverpool and Porto. Manchester City will play against Basel and Manchester United faces Seville. The other duels are Juventus-Tottenham, Bayern Munich-Besiktas and Shakhtar Donetsk-Rome.
The first leg matches will be on 13 or 21 February and the rounds will be between 6 and 14 March. The final will be in Kiev on May 26.
