Some of the famous Japanese brands in India are Suzuki, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. Suzuki has taken about 50% of the Indian car market. 1 Reliability

The major reason why people buy Japanese cars is that they are very reliable, their maintenance cost is very low, they are fuel-efficient and they are built to last. The average life of an engine is about 1,60,000 Km(if maintained well) but we have observed Japanese car owners driving them up to 3,00,000 Km!! and still they drive just fine.

The majority of Indian car buyers are non-automobile enthusiast and focus more on fuel efficiency instead of things like braking and handling.

2 Cheaper spare parts

Japanese car parts are available in almost every spare part shop and they are cheaper to replace compared to other cars.

3 After-Sales Service

Almost every car company offers decently good after-sales services but Japanese ones are a little cheaper.

One Demerit of these cars is that they don't offer good build quality compared to other car brands.
