Living The Dream
Let me start by saying that this is a reflection of my own experience, my thoughts and philosophy in life.
The way I see things is very different that it used to be ten years ago. In 2008 I was working for a company that offered me a great gift. Knowledge, and more specifically a weekend training that gave me knowledge on how to become successful by following my dreams. But how is success defined? Well that depends on each person, some think that is having a good job, money on the bank or being somebody important by the society standards. In my opinion success is a journey that seeks achieving your own legitimate dreams. And this raises another important question; how do you know what my true dream is? I think a real dream is something very difficult to get, something that several people have told you that you can’t get or have laugh at you for even trying. You have two choices of how to react, the first and unfortunately the most common one is to be mad and respond with something aggressive or negative. The second one is something that I would like to cite with the lyrics of one of my favorite Reggae bands: “I'm trying to do something not nothing, you're trying to hold me back and that's fine, nothing you say or do is worth my time good day to you I respectfully decline.” This shows determination but also shows respect for someone else’s opinion, which we shoul take just as that an opinion.
I’m writing about this, because I experienced it. I’ve always dreamed about becoming a pilot/skydiver and of course a lot of people tried to discourage me by telling me that it was difficult, expensive and dangerous. Part of it is true. It is really expensive and you have to study a lot to accomplish it. That’s when the dream factor became really important because it makes you find the way to do it and gives you the extra energy to overcome all the difficulties along the way.
Today I‘m proud to say that I became a professional Skydiving videographer, Tandem Instructor and Pilot with 4,200+ jumps and 3000+ flight time.
Skydiving saved my life from mediocrity and I hope my story inspires you to get what ever you want. I can assure you that to make your dreams come true, you gotta take some action right now!
Thanks to Rebelution for their inspiring lyrics and positive attitude.
