You Need This In Your Collection. Sunset Mission (LP, 2000) by Bohren and Der Club of Gore

This post doesn't fit neatly into any of my currently running series' so I'll just call it what it is: Something you absolutely have to listen to, if you consider yourself a connoisseur of quality music. The record, initially released in 2000, came out on CD but was shelved for vinyl release due to some issue or another. There were 20 copies of a Test Press that made their way into the world, but the rest of the wax buying population would have to wait until 2016, when the [PIAS] label saw to it that 4000 copies be pressed onto sweet, sweet vinyl. Praise be!

"Doom-Jazz" I've heard it called, also "DarkJazz" or "Jazz Noir". Either way, subtle, slow, sublime; it is all of these things. Some kindred spirit has uploaded it in its' entirety to the old Youtube, so now we get to enjoy it! But also, you can enjoy the 2016 repress on wax, for a very reasonable $25. Which you should absolutely do.
