Easter Sunday's Reflection

in #reflection5 years ago

Hello Steem Nation!

Today is Easter Sunday. For this post I write a reflection from a verse in the Bible.

Psalm 30:5 New International Version (NIV)

For his anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

God had proven his love & faithfulness to King David all through out his life & the latter may shared the same faithfulness too. But David, a human being like me, sinned against God as he was enticed by the lust of the flesh.

A man after God's own heart loves the things God loves and the ways He prescribes and that is all the more lesson for God to discipline David just like a loving father who believe that it is just necessary to train a child. His angry does not intend to stay forever because when David realized his faults and repented with a sorrowful heart. God restored His relationship with him which gave him an everlasting joy.

We too, have many occasions of difficulty and pain caused by our sinful actions and selfish attitude towards God & others. These could be considered chastening rod of our Father who wanted us to correct our attitude & to repent from our sins. And just like the King David, who is called according to His good purpose, God's anger will always turn into our favor - we just need to pray for deliverance, acknowledge our sins and repent. God's chastening will always be transformed into lifetime of a joy and grace. Weeping may indeed stay for a night but joy comes in the morning.

What we experience right now due to Covid-19, may be sign of God's chastening as well. It is true, that we humans have been living a life that is not pleasing to God. We continuosly sin and do not give priority to our spiritual relationship with Him.

I believe in God's promise that this will last only a moment, this too shall pass; we just need to endure it. We need to repent from our sin & restore our relationship with Him. We must humble ourselves, pray & seek His face. With these, surely our loving Father in heaven will forgive our sins and will heal our land.
