Reintroducing myself and introducing reintroduceyourself tag

Over the six months I’ve been active on Steemit, I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon: although this is largely a social platform, I don’t know much about the majority of people that I’m following.

For example, everything personal that I know about @abigail-dantes, who is my favorite Steemian overall, I found out during the “one beer a day challenge” she took. Before that, all I knew about her was that she’s writing lovely psychology articles and always wholeheartedly answering comments.

Also, I know nothing personal about @cryptogee, who wrote my favorite series of Steemit articles – his mind-blowing musings about the future of AI and humanity.

I understand and respect that some of us prefer to remain private. However, I’m guessing that I don’t know much about many Steemians simply because they’ve published their introduceyourself articles ages ago, while I still wasn’t following them.

To solve this, I would like to take this opportunity to promote the usage of reintroduceyourself tag and invite the users who are active here for a long time to publish a “reintroducing myself” article.

Although I’m not here for very long, at the time that I’ve published my introduction I haven’t had 90% of the followers that I have today, so I’ll reintroduce myself too.

My name is Predrag Milošević and I’m a 30-year-old guy from Belgrade, Serbia.

I have graduated on Faculty of Organizational Sciences, worked as a Project Manager and/or Business Analyst in a couple of companies, and dumped my corporate career because I didn’t like spending 8-10 hours on work + 1-2 hours on commuting five times per week.

I really felt that I desperately need more time for myself and I’ve managed to create that time by switching from a corporate to a freelance career. I’ve managed to become a top-rated business plan consultant at Upwork, which allows me to have a nice life in my country by working just a couple of hours per day from home.

Big thanks to my ex-girlfriend and current best girl friend @katarinamiliv for introducing me to Upwork... and Steemit!

I spend most of my free time on dancing the Argentinian tango. Here’s an extract from my article about tango written months ago:

I needed months of persuasion to try out the Argentinian Tango because I thought that there is no way that I would like something like that, that dancing is "gay", and that I would be horrible at it. Now I become jittery whenever I don't tango for more than one day.

Social tango has nothing to do with what is displayed in the movies. Social tango is nonverbal communication, synchronization, and relationship between two persons, music, and other people around you. It doesn’t require you to wiggle or shake your butt, but it does require (or maybe it’s better to say “helps you develop”) openness, relaxation, awareness, sensitivity, creativity, and musicality.

What makes it special is the way it is danced. It is danced in a close embrace (hug) with a focus on feeling, leading, following, adjusting, and improvising with your partner instead of doing choreographed, memorized moves independently or with a light contact with your partner.

As an interesting side-note, before discovering tango, I was mostly listening to punk music and going to punk parties. Here's my pic from a punk concert:

I hope that this has brought me closer to my followers and, more importantly, I really hope that other people will follow this trend.

Isn't it about time that you write a "reintroducing myself" article? : )

Have a wonderful day, week, and life!

Welcome to steemit @lifenbeauty.

This is a great idea @lifenbeauty. I feel the introduceyourself post gets lost in the shuffle after so many followers. I like how you share your background about you living in Serbia. Good for you for ditching the corporate grind. Also, love that you like to tango. Keep up these personal posts man!

Thank you @jfitmisc, see you around! : )

Pretty good idea @lifenbeauty I personally consider steemit more of a blog website then a social media platform to be honest though..

I agree with you - it's more of a blog than a social media platform, but a blog with unusually high level of interaction between bloggers. : )

@lifenbeauty yes absolutely. Personally I would love to see a few more touches like a photo album on the profile page that would be cool :)

Great post! Rewelcome to the community ;)

Welcome to steemit, lifenbeauty.

I agree on that as there seems to be a limitation of posts or data which are available as a backlog on one person's blog. Older articles of some users can only be retrieved via Google.

An excellent observation. Furthermore, even if it was feasible to scroll down all the way to the first article and look for the introduction, it is highly inconvenient to do that if the blogger has published hundreds of posts and you're not even certain if he has or hasn't written a personal introduction.
