Breaking Up with Your Boyfriend is Easier than Breaking Up with Your Boss

When you break up with your boyfriend, you can just be single. Unless you are financially stable, it is best to find a new boss before you break up with your old one.

When you break up with your boyfriend you can cease all contact with them. Unfortunately, you have to maintain civility with your old boss because you might need them for a reference.

Thinking about it, I am so glad that I don't need a reference from my old boyfriend in order to get a new one... I mean could you imagine? It's hard enough already!

When you are looking for a new boss, you have to provide them with a list of all your old bosses. Be sure to account for any gaps in your life where you did not have a boss. This is called a CV. Imagine if you had to do that when looking for a new partner? Would lots of experience be good or bad? That dating CV might need to be edited ;-)

When you do finally break up with your boss, you have to give notice. You can just leave your boyfriend straight away, but you still have to endure a few extra awkward weeks with your boss. During these excruciating weeks, you might even be lucky enough to meet the person who is replacing you, even train them up!
