Let's see the true colour of the Catholic Church's cards
Now that the highest Catholic in Australia has been charged with historical child offences (Cardinal George Pell), it will be interesting to see what the Vatican's response is, since Australia has no extradition treaty with the Vatican. Will the Church willingly hand him over for justice to prevail, or will they hide him away, the same way they have hid other offending members for centuries? Maybe George Pell will remain holed up in the Vatican, the same way Julian Assange has been hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Fortunately Australia DOES have an extradition treaty with Italy. He must be feeling like a caged mouse, and rightly so. Karma is a bitch!

First of all, he hasn't been proven guilty, yet.
Secondly, he is the Vatican treasurer. He therefore knows a lot of secrets. I can't see him leaving if he doesn't want to go.
He is a cardinal. That is the rank from which the next pope is chosen. The fact that he will be charged alone is huge. He would not be charged if there wasn't enough evidence.
So, do you think he'll become the next pope?

Nope... 3rd in line will be his zenith. He was alarmingly close in the last ballot though.....

I only said he had been charged, and that the Church has form. If he doesn't face justice, then the integrity of the entire church is shot
