3d Printed Trains. Part 5 - New Old Locomotive, The Beginning.

After a short break i m happy to share with you my new locomotive.
It is not finished yet (it is in my head) but it just made its first run so there it is.

Learning from past mistakes I finished building and testing the components before I started the design.

Now its time to turn this prototype to a good looking 2-4-0

I want the parts to sit like this

1st and 2nd attempts

Cool only 4 attempts

And... a new design

Two more designs

First test was with two pairs of wheels only and i expected no problems in curves because this locomotive is just a slightly longer than the last one, however once i connected the 3rd (front) pair it did not take curves well, and derailed every time.

Putting it on a curved track showed the problem, the front wheels should be free to move sideways.

Lets do this, another design.

Looking good, lets try this.
