Did you know, it is good to be acne sufferer...

A research conducted by Kings College London discovers that people who tend to be effected by acne actually have younger looking skin as they age, as compared to those have no acne. People with acne tends to delay the facing wrinkles as well as tightening skin and in this way these wrinkles protect them from looking aged for longer time.

Dr. Simone Ribero, a dermatologist from the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College, says:

“For many years dermatologists have identified that the skin of acne sufferers appears to age more slowly than in those who have not experienced any acne in their lifetime. Whilst this has been observed in clinical settings, the cause of this was previously unclear".

The researchers also discovered co-relation between acne and telomeres that those who have acne tend to have longer telomeres compared to those with acne free skin. Thus delaying the appearance of wrinkles and other markers showing higher age in previously acne victims.

Dr. Simone Ribero also stated that

“Our findings suggest the cause could be linked to the length of telomeres which appears to be different in acne sufferers and means their cells may be protected against aging.”.

while  more research still needs to be done for bringing more solid conclusions for solidify the above research.
