What does it mean if you resteem something?

what does it mean if you resteem someone elses poste? do u make money from it, or is it just to help the other person out? also, does it cost anything?

    Well, you get a payout on every thing you do here. Upvote, Post, comments and restreem. If you like an article, restreem. or, if you have a buddy, just restreem each others stuff! You'll get the hang of it and I am open to give advice or ideas. Peace.
