Review Midseason Bungou Stray Dogs

in #review6 years ago

Why I decided to just discuss Bungou Stray Dogs this time in the rubric Midseason Review is because yesterday forgot to discuss I feel have to give a little more time to understand this one anime. Not that this anime does not interest me, I myself feel this anime is worthy to sit in the top 10 of the best anime this season. However, I think it takes a little time to deepen it because the characters are not small.

Bungou Stray Dogs opens with our main character, Nakajima Atsushi who was kicked out of his orphanage because it is considered to burden the cost of the orphanage food. When he was kicked, rumors circulated that a tiger preyed on people at night. Strangely, wherever he goes, the tiger always follows. When he finally almost died of hunger, he found someone floating in the river. Inadvertently, Atsushi rescues Dazai Osamu who is trying to commit suicide. As weird as it sounds, the story will get even weirder from this point on.

Bungou Stray Dogs comes from a manga with a story by Kafka Asagiri and an illustration of Sango Harukawa in 2012. This series became one of the most recommended manga bookstores throughout Japan in 2014. Bones adapted this series in spring 2016 and will air a part both in October 2016

So what makes this anime so perfect to be the top 10 of the best this season despite having to compete with anime-anime caliber Re: Zero, Netoge no Yome, or Kotetsujou no Kabaneri? Let's discuss some of their focal points below.

Igarashi Takuya's bishounen heaven

One of the biggest appeal of the anime is certainly its bishounen, but fortunately, the bishoubunen in the Bungou Stray Dogs series is not very ... pretty (?). I'd say their presence is on par with K anime series' bishounens, male viewers will find them like them, no homo. The anime also has various types of bishounen for your viewing pleasure, so I'm sure whatever your fetish is, you'll be satisfied watching this anime.

The direction of Igarashi Takuya's director is also one that makes me really enjoy this anime. He has worked in 2 anime that I like very much in the past, Darker than Black as a storyboard organizer and Star Driver as a director. His style of joking, how he takes the picture angle, how he envisioned the world, and this anime narrative style (in this case, Atsushi narrative) becomes very important.

Just like the Soul Eater series, many strange faces will appear in this movie. These strange faces are also one of the appeal of this anime, because I really enjoy their expressions. Although he had directed anime that I dropped before this, Captain Earth and Eureka Seven Ao, but until now he has done a great job.

Various types of characters

This one point may be a bit difficult to assess, because everyone has different opinions about the characters in this series. Some people think the character is super freak (which they are) with a protagonist who can not do anything. There are those who assume the character is ordinary, there are also who assume his character is not as dismissive as others think. I myself consider the character quite interesting because in these early episodes, they dig deep enough into each character and I'm sure it'll help in the future.

Bungou Stray Dogs has many characters, and each character has its own type. We have Atsushi a little plain and like panic, there is Dazai that seems still full of mystery, Kunikida who want to run everything perfect, to the woman dreams. Although I do not read his manga, I am very interested in the past of every character that must be very interesting. The announcement of the second season has made me believe this anime will be long and enjoyable.

Like their different personalities, they also have different powers as well. From the first few episodes and how they showed their strengths, I'm sure there will be many unique ways to apply their strengths in the future.

This ending song.

I do not know if you prefer the opening song, but for me the cover song is much better than the opening song. Not because there is a dazai atsushi, but when speaking from the point of view of taste, I just liked it better.

It will probably start a bit slow for some
The first few episodes of this anime will be full of character and world building stuff, not much action you will get. But when you do, it's on the awesome side of the scale. The only problem is whether you can bear to follow some episodic stories early in the series or not. My advice is to stick with it until you feel this anime does not match you.

Dazai Osamu

If there is 1 character enough to be my only reason to watch this anime, he is Dazai Osamu. As a character, Dazai is very mysterious, having revealed whether the work of Dazai in the past. His cheerful personality and sometimes a bit of an idiot became an attraction for me. I know a character like Dazai is not the first one in an anime series, but a character like he is my favorite.

Dazai's relationship with every character is quite fun to see. How he was paired with Kunikida who was like water and oil, and what his relationship with Akutagawa in the past also seemed to be interesting.

Verdict: It'll be quite a long journey / 10

Given this anime will be long, it seems quite natural that we give a little chance for this anime to solidify the foundation in the hearts of their respective fans. Humor too I think a bit hit and miss, who likes ya like, which I do not say arrriverdecci. But from the reaction of my closest people who watched it to date, it seems the majority love it.

I recommend you who have not watched it to try to watch 3 episodes first, if you sure want to follow the length of this series, then continue. Although full of bars, it's definitely more universal when compared to the Endride that aired this season.

You will be presented with good animation, famous seiyuu, special high budget effects, interesting stories, and of course the beautiful boys. This anime is a pretty safe choice if you like drama, action, and generally
