Movie Review - The Truth Or Dare
We've been here many times: His stupid teenage Horror is a fool, not a horror, but in some cases it's both. We'll see the dumb teenagers do the dumbass then they'll die one by one. But I can imagine how sineasnya make a proposal to the producer: "The movie kayak Final Destination, but with the game game" Truth or Dare "". This is not the most creative film idea of all time, but frankly, quite interesting.
If only the creativity was also spilled for his own film. Because I've done "Dare" is desperate to watch this movie despite being warned, then I will reveal "Truth". This is my proposal for those of you who plan to watch the movie: "The movie is like Final Destination, but it's worse and boring."
First we will get acquainted with the cliché stock character of teen horror movie. The main character is good (at least compared to his friends) Olivia (Lucy Hale), girl hedon Markie (Violett Beane), the only girl Penelope (Sophia Ali), Ronnie stupid (Sam Lerner) and macho bachelor. In fact, this movie is very fond of a macho bachelor until we get 3 macho bachelors: Lucas (Tyler Posey) who is also Markie's boyfriend, Brad (Hayden Szeto), and ... Ronnie. Yes, even Ronnie who probably did not want to be friends by anyone it's not an awkward to gym.
Long story short, they spent the summer vacation to Mexico. Why does the good Olivia want to come along? Because Markie deceived him by saying that they would do some sort of social action. Why Mexico? Why would they want to accept an invitation from a foreigner to have a drink in a dark, lonely place that seems to be a haunted old church? Then, why not play "Truth or Dare" in a place like that, like there's no other place. Of course, let us get the Truth or Dare movie.
It's been a sign since the beginning, but they just realized that the devil joined in this game when they returned to campus. His name is Devil Truth or Dare. Maybe. The haunting way is to change the expression of people around our teenagers to be like Jack Nicholson's expression of The Shining or by asking "Truth or Dare?" via SMS. Please do not laugh, it's a horror movie. Impolite.
If not answered, the devil increasingly keen nanya. If answered, you must do what is required and can not. Select "Truth", or select "Dare", or select off. To make the game more difficult, of course "Truth" or "Dare" is not that easy. Unfortunately, the devil is not as smart as the Destiny of Final Destination.
I originally thought this movie would be the next-to-die movie that was pretty exciting, because we might see how this dumb teenager was dying in a supernatural way of entertaining. Unlike I suspected, this movie was more inclined to "Truth". Suitable when our teens are given interpersonal conflict. Olivia fell in love with Lucas much less Markie himself likes to cheat. Brad is gay while his father is homophobic.
This will work if the movie is made weighty. We are conditioned to be tied to character, which is not the case with teenagers in Truth or Dare. They are shallow, even Olivia himself has no dimensions. One more way to make it work, yes that was, by making it campy like a class B horror movie, which was not daring (ahem) done by the movie. This film is not binding, not entertaining, and also do not make a shock. The only reason I do not rate 1 is because it is not insulting. I may be bored, but I am not pushed to suck my head.
My own myth is pretty scary, you know. Toward the end, an elderly Mexican woman will explain where the devil's "Truth or Dare" comes from. Instead, the explanation is complicated, including its use for a twist at the end. You see, this demon is not only specialized in "Truth or Dare", but also in the game "Petak Umpet"! Imagine a spin-off that can be made: "Jump Rope",
But the last one can already be called a demon game, because from the first "Monopoly" has successfully broke the friendship ropes between players.
