[Road to Steemfest] Where the money comes?

This week was about how are we actually going to steemfest and how are we funding the trip. I could have bought the ticket with steem, but I would have needed to power down quite a bit and I didn’t want to do that. Especially with prices like this taking steem out is kinda bad idea. For me at least, and because I don’t have to, I won’t.

So I’m going to fund my trip with old fashioned manual labor, working irl. Or I did already because the trip is pretty much paid. But the working doesn’t end here. Even if the trip has been paid I still have to cover the loss for the time that I’m staying in Kraków and being absent from work. All this needs a bit preparations and planing. Like paying a few rents pre hand so I don’t have to be too tight with money after trip. I’ll rather eat porridge a month before trip than after it.

Okay, I don’t have to eat porridge, not like the situation is that bad. But I still want to keep my current lifestyle even if the trip takes some extra. Even if we are talking about less than a week it still means about a 1k€ for me. That is not the money I’ll be using for the trip, no. That is the money I’ll be losing because of the trip, because I’m taking time off. I know I’ve earned to have some free time because I burned my summer vacation because I changed city and work, but you know me, I think and value my time in €s.

Every € I don’t work for is away from my wallet, the reasons I don’t like to take too much holidays. I would like to travel more and see the world but taking time off from source of money makes it difficult. In my head if not elsewhere. I don’t see my self as a budget traveler, I’ve done that. I’ve suffered my share with the hobo life and I got some awesome memories because of it but I’m done with it for now. I wanna sleep in nice bed when I travel and not share the room with strangers. So, hostels aren’t option anymore. Of course this makes the travel budget also bigger, and that naturally means that I have to work even harder to achieve the goal.

But as said, Poland is cheap for a Finn, so trip doesn’t drain me dry and I’m looking forward to it! The only thing I need to do is pay the air bnb, and we are good to go! Okay, I also need to kick up the activity level here in steemit, but for now it has been about working in new city and filling the niche. I’ll be back, I’ll promise! Don’t lose the hope, not yet!

Yes, I hate debt too, especially for things that are not essential.
Have fun.

And when they are essential, i hate the debt still. It just feel more rightful then:)

It's like, do you live without a refrigerator, or do you buy one on credit and pay it off as fast as you can? We both come to the same answer. And there is nothing wrong with doing that.
