The proposal passed in the UN to give citizenship to the Rohingya
The proposal to return Rohingya to Myanmar and give them citizenship has been passed by a huge vote in the UN's social, humanitarian and human rights forum, known as Third Committee.
In the headquarters of the company in New York on Thursday, OIC's proposal to participate in the voting took place in 71 countries. The United States, United Kingdom, including the first 35 states voted for it. 10 countries voted against China, Russia. But 26 states, including India, abstained from voting. The final voting will be held in the General Assembly next month.
Bangladesh's permanent representative to the United Nations, Masud Bin Momen, said, "In overall consideration, there was considerable support for this resolution. Have to try internationally. Only those who voted for it are not the only ones who want the solution, but many are on the side.
The Saudi ambassador to the organization, Al Moahalim, expressed satisfaction over the decision taken by the United Nations. He said, 'We are very happy with this result. In this regard, the United Nations has to praise Bangladesh's representative. Myanmar will now be under international pressure. '
