Princess Catherine makes an appearance at Trooping of the Colour

in #royalty6 months ago

Trooping of the Colour is an annual pageant featuring mounted military personnel (cavalry), in honour of the monarch. It's always held on 15th June, which was Queen Victoria's birthday. Later monarchs decided not to change the date as the pageant is best in the summer.

Princess Catherine, who hadn't been seen since Christmas Day due to her struggle with cancer, was present. She was too ill to sit on the dais, but participated in the carriage ride, watched the pageant from a Palace window, and made an appearance on the balcony.

Here she is with William and their children:

She looks like she's lost a lot of weight, and her fingers had odd white patches on them.

We are unlikely to see her again in the next few months.
