Lunch walk

When a runner is injured it is a hard mental game to stay positive. It feels like the rest of Strava and social media is healthy and happy and you feel like the only injured failure in the world. Or at least I do on hard days. One of the things that I can do as much as I want without pain now is walking, so I have put more time into everyday hiking than I normally would. Today I spend 20 minutes of my lunch break walking around the campus park (I work at a University). The combination of fresh air and spring flowers is not the worst replacement of runners high I can think of!

I think that the combination of fresh air and spring flowers are awesome: well done, injured runner! ;)

Excellent move, bravo! The park looks beautiful.

Staying positive and optimistic is tough -- and not getting frustrated with the setback once you're able to start training again is tougher still! Just keep moving and enjoying the nice weather -- listen to the body!
