This is how life looks in the smallest apartments in China

The population of the planet is constantly growing. There is a dire need for more and more housing, but space is limited, especially in Hong Kong.

Cage houses have been popular for years in China, where the poor have been living there for centuries.

However, in the last 10 years, the number of cage houses has fallen, being replaced by coffin suites.

These small wooden boxes of 15 square meters have a bedroom, a kitchen, and some even habe a bathroom.

To show the world the cruel reality in Hong Kong, photographer Benny Lam highlights through his photographs the suffocating living conditions of Hong Kong.

The images captured by him reveal the reality of the housing crisis in Hong Kong, an alarming situation in which 200,000 people live in inhumane conditions because they can not afford anything else.

Renting a one bedroom apartment in Hong Kong costs about 1200 Euro per month, as opposed to the cage house rent of 10 Euro per month.

My room is as big as three of their apartments; it is so sad.

We should not complain so much and understand that there will always be other people who are in a lot worse position than us.

This is how life looks in the smallest apartments in China.
