Project Anderson 22 - Part 1

in #sailing6 years ago

I’ve just bought a 22ft Anderson yacht, a Mini Offshore Cruiser which after 5 years out the water needs a little TLC. Her name is currently “Rags”. She is 4 berth with a lifting keel and I plan to refit her ready to sail for next year. I’m based in the UK so winter is a bit chilly to start anything, but the weather is getting warmer. So time to make some plans!

First things first, I will need to take everything out of her as I want to redesign the inside to make a little better use of the space. Fitting a toilet that affords some privacy and creating 4 berths in the space of one at the bow are going to be the main design changes, with upgrades to insulation and electronics etc in the background.

I want to use her in the UK, but who knows I may get more adventurous! These were designed to cross the Atlantic after all!

As a dinghy sailor this seemed the perfect next step , and I’ve always wanted to refit my own boat. Exciting times. Would love to hear from any other Anderson owners, or indeed any one with any tips! Will be updating with progress !

Does your boat look like this?

Do you want to cross the Atlantic?
It will be interesting.
Can you attach this news on the map?

I think many will be interested in following the movement of your yacht and crew, and new friends will appear.

Will do! Yes she is pretty much the same? Is that an older photo of her because I can’t see the transom name?
Will definitely add this via the link! Thanks for the info !!
