Microsoft begins selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 8
If you’re in the market for a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, you have a plethora of options on where to pick one up. It’s in carrier stores and other brick and mortar retailers like Best Buy. If you don’t want to leave your house, you can order one directly from Samsung or maybe even pick one up used from Swappa.
But, would you be shocked to know that you can get one from Microsoft too? Yep, it’s true. Microsoft is now selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This comes just after it began selling the Razer Phone and the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus last week. In fact, if you’re looking to pick up the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, Microsoft has them on sale, dropping the price by $150.
So, what’s the deal? Why is Microsoft selling the Galaxy Note 8? Well, the best we can tell, it is so it can push its software suite. The Note 8 sold from Microsoft comes Microsoft’s new launcher and packed with productivity software like Word, Excel, OneNote, Cortana, and Outlook. You still get all of the Note goodness, but with the best Microsoft has to offer as well.
As a quick reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a 6.3-inch 2960 x 1440 infinity display, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. It has dual 12 MP shooters on the rear, a first for a Samsung flagship, and an 8 MP front-facing camera. The rest of the specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, expandable storage, an IP68 rating, and a 3300mAh battery that supports quick charging.
You can head over to Microsoft’s website now to pick one up or find a physical location that sells them. It’s priced at $929 right now, but is rumored to be discounted at some point over the holiday shopping weekend.
