Sandwip-Sitakund is one of the 40 days in the submarine cable
Returning from Sandwip: China's contracting firm ZTT has established submarine cable at the depth of 40 feet under the sea for 40 days. Millions of people of Sandwip will be under the power of the national grid by installing a submarine cable built at a cost of Tk 144 crore under the supervision of the Power Development Board (PDB).
After the approval of the project on September 10, 2014, China's contracting firm, ZTT, got the project under submarine submarine cable installed under the international tender.
JTD Project Director Engineer Mr. Gudwin told Banglanews that the work of establishing submarine cable in the 16-kilometer portion of the Sandwip channel is underway through international tenders. On December 10 last year, submarine cables were brought to China via a sophisticated ship from SBS. Under the ship, the work of establishing submarine cable under the sea began from December 21 last year. Cables have been installed at 18 to 30 feet deep in the sea.
He also said that two cables of 33,000 volts have been installed in the bottom of the sea under 16 kilometer. Each cable has 3 core and one optical fiev. If there is a connection to a cable connection for any of the two cables; Then another cable has been set to be used as an alternative. 60 megawatt electricity can be supplied by 30 cms through these two cables. According to the project, the installation of submarine cable has been completed within 40 days by the latest technology under the sea, the Chinese engineer said.
PDB Chief Executive (South) Engineer Prabir Kumar Sen told Banglanews that the installation of submarine cable in the 16 kilometer portion of Sandip Channel has already been completed by the Chinese contracting company. Within 41 kilometers of the project, the remaining 10 kilometers of Sitakund and the 16-kilometer portion of the Sandwip headquarters are to be established. 60 percent of these works have been completed.
