Basically @steembasicincome keeps track of how many shares you have. It generates upvotes over time for you based on the quantity of shares you have.

Personally I have also undertaken several initiatives here in steemit. After a year and a half of efforts, with the help of a great team of collaborators, we have managed to form a small community (@project.hope) where we try to support each other. We also have a passive income program that might be interesting to you.
