Cleanliness and Godliness
Hey everybody, today we will be talking about cleanliness and what God has to say about it.
The traditional "cleanliness is next to Godliness" saying is not actually specifically stated in the Holy Scriptures, but the principle surely is commanded by the Word of God.
Various passages of the Bible talk about cleanliness, not just physically but also spiritual cleanliness.
`<17:15 And every soul [see What Does The Bible Really Say About Your Soul?] that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean. 17:16 But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity." (Leviticus 17:15-16 KJV)
"5:10 And Elisha [see also Elisha's Miracles] sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean." (2 Kings 5:10 KJV)
"9:30 If I wash myself with snow water [see also Why Are Christ's Garments White As Snow?], and make my hands never so clean" (Job 9:30 KJV)
"51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51:7 KJV)
"1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;" (Isaiah 1:16 KJV)>`
That will be all for today and remember to stay clean physically and spiritually.
