PERFECTLY CLEAN.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
It is wonderful to know we have a God who wants to make us new and clean.
Man would like to condemn and destroy the bad and the ugly but God says it is not his desire that any should perish.
Though Saul persecuted the christians, he had an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus going to commit more atrocities.
Surprisingly after Saul's conversion, God used him mightily, confirming that he had been forgiven and his sins completely wiped away.
We know a deep stain is virtually impossible to remove from clothing and the stain of sin seems equally permanent but from the stories of people like Mary Magdalene, we discover God can remove the stain of sin from our lives as he promised to do for the Israelites.
We don't have to go through life permanently soiled if we are willing and obedient.
David was a benefactor of the mercies of God. He was a humble man who never defended himself when found guilty.
In psalm 51:1-7, we realise that David was truly sorry for his adultery with Bathsheba and for murdering her husband to cover it up.
His actions had hurt many people but because he repented of those sins, God mercifully forgave him.
God referred to David as a man after his heart.
Do you feel that you could never come close to God because you have done something terrible?
God can and will forgive you of any sin if you are genuinely repentant!
With him and in him we are perfectly cleaned.

If we surrender to God in humility, He will heal our hearts and cleanse our heart. However, may we not continue in sin!

God forgives sins. The sins we committed before we were believers don't count against us but we will live with the consequences. The sins we commit as believers will affect our eternal reward in heaven.
David and his family suffered for his sin with Bathsheba and against Uriah the HIttite. His newborn son was struck dead. His son Amnon raped his daughter Tamar. His son Absalom had Amnon killed then he rebelled against his father. Most likely, hundreds of people died because of David's sin.
