LEAVE THE CHURCH
Source
One of the most controversial and difficult questions to answer is this: should I leave my church? And if so, what is the time and way to do it? It's fair to talk to your pastor before leaving a church. Is he the reason you want to leave? That is another reason why one should schedule a meeting. Hebrews 13:17 says: “Obey your shepherds, and submit to them, because they watch over their souls, as those who will give an account. To do it with joy, and not complaining, because this is not helpful for you. ”
A young man arrives at the pastor and says:
- Pastor I will not go to church anymore!
The pastor then replied:
- But why?
The young man replied:
- Ah! I see the sister who speaks ill of another sister; The brother who does not read well; The singing group that lives out of tune; The people who during the cults stare at the cell phone, among so many other wrong things that I see doing in the church.
The pastor told him:
- All right! But first, I want you to do me a favor: have a full glass of water and go around the church three times without spilling a drop of water on the floor. After that, you can leave the church.
And the young man thought: very easy!
And he turned three times as the Pastor asked. When he finished he said:
- Ready pastor.
And the Pastor replied:
- When you were going around, have you seen the sister speak badly of the other?
The young man:
- Do not
Have you seen people claim from each other?
The young man:
- Do not
Did you see someone watching mobile?
The young man:
- Do not
You know why?
- You were focused on the glass, so as not to tip the water.
The same is in our life. When our focus is Our Lord Jesus Christ, we will not have time to see people's mistakes.
WHO LEAVES THE CHURCH BECAUSE OF PEOPLE, NEVER ENTERED BECAUSE OF JESUS ... I AM GOING FROM THE CHURCH.
Many justify their decision to remain in a spiritually unhealthy place, under the idea that God has not yet authorized them to leave. There is no doubt that this is the case in a significant number of people; but I think that in many other cases it is only an escape from a decision that they do not want to make, often motivated by fear. But let us not forget that "God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, love and self-control" (2 Tim. 1: 7)
Leaving a church is not something you should do lightly. Too many people leave churches for insignificant reasons. Disagreements about simple matters of preference are never a good reason to withdraw from a healthy church that believes in the Bible. Christians are commanded to respect, honor, and obey those whom God has placed in leadership positions in the church (Heb. 13: 7, 17).
Very true @arcadedios, our focus should always be Jesus Christ.
