Greetings brothers.

It is interesting to inquire in Scripture about the true meaning of God's love. We all know that God is love, however, what does the Bible say about God's love? How does God define love?

The Bible tells us that "God is love" (1 John 4: 8-11). God is love: «Beloved, let us love one another; Because love is from God. All who love are born of God and know God. 8 He who does not love has not known God; Because God is love 9 This showed God's love for us, in which God sent his only begotten Son into the world, so that we can live for him. 10 This is love: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son in propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God has loved us like this, we must also love each other. But how can we begin to understand this truth?

There are many passages in the Bible that give us the definition of God's love. The best verse is John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not be lost, but have eternal life."

Therefore, one way in which God defines love is in the act of surrender. God sacrificed his only son so that we, who put our faith in his Son, would not spend eternity without him.

Another great verse about God's love is found in Romans 5: 8: "But God demonstrates his love for us in this: that when we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

God wants us to know that his love is unconditional; That is why he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, while we were still sinners. We didn't have to clean ourselves, we didn't have to make any promise to God before we could experience his love. His love for us has always existed and that is why he gave everything and sacrificed it long before we realized that we needed his love.

God is love: it is unconditional God is love, and his love is very different from human love. He does not love us because we are easy to love or because we make him feel good; He loves us because he is love. He created us to have a loving relationship with him.

Love is a feeling, it is not something material, let's see where Paul takes us: Paul mentions that love is by grace, it is by faith; We do not see it but we are sorry, this implies that we must love by faith all Christians, and even those who are not, therefore, we must be people who live by faith.

Love has to be by faith, so Paul says: faith that works by love, and faith without love does not work, the gospel is united with faith, there is no place for the gospel that omits faith or love, these necessarily have to go hand in hand, that is, they go together, let's read: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13

«Love suffers, it is benign; love is not envious, love is not boastful, it does not swell; 5 does nothing wrong, does not seek its own, does not get irritated, does not hold a grudge; 6 injustice is not enjoyed, but the truth is enjoyed. 7 He suffers everything, believes everything, expects everything, supports everything. 8 Love never ceases to be; but the prophecies will end, and the languages will cease, and science will end. 9 For partly we know, and partly we prophesy; 10 more when the perfect comes, then what is partly over. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, thought as a child, judged as a child; But when I was a man, I left what I was when I was a child. 12 Now we see through the mirror, darkly; but then we'll see it face to face. Now I know in part; but then I will know how they met me. 13 And now faith, hope and love remain, these three; But the greatest of these is love."

The purpose of this commandment is the love born of a clean heart, of good conscience and of non-feigned faith, from which some things that deviate, deviated in vain, wanting to be doctors of the law, without even understanding what they speak "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who outrage and persecute you" (Matthew 5: 44-48).

The mandate of this is clean love, with a clean heart and good conscience.

All the biblical portions quoted lead us to the definition of God's love.

@johalys48, God is love is the very essence of what he professes and loves us so much that he longs for us as children to give us that love to cleanse us and that we can give what He gives us...

And this same not let us be without fruit.
