STEEMCHURCH: What does it mean to believe in the resurrection today?

in #sc-v6 years ago

The resurrection can be understood as an event of the whole particular that
It took place a couple of centuries ago and in a specific person, Jesus of Nazareth. Undoubtedly, this is an event
that marked, definitely, the birth of a new faith, Christianity. The common Christian may not have many
theological notions that allow him to understand the magnitude of that central moment for his faith. Nor the professional theologian
He stops wondering and does not exhaust the implications of faith in the resurrection. Even so, be aware or not of the multiple
questions that may arise, a crowd gathers around this paschal event that opens a new time and fills us
of hope.
To refer to the resurrection ignoring our present environment is to make it a word empty of all real content. Theology does not
is to formulate large hollow phrases or elaborate thoughts that do not make reference to reality. On the contrary, born of faith
to move and awaken our hearts with hope in a better life. How to speak of resurrection before realities like
death, injustice and oppression? Attending a homily on Easter day that does not refer to our current situation is
favor evasive positions that leave a large number of Christians disoriented in the face of reality. Let's not forget what the
The primitive Church understood and reminded his followers: "You crucified him and killed him through lawless people. But
God, freeing him from the rigors of death, resurrected him? (Acts 2,23-24).
The Apostle Paul reminds us: if Christ is not risen, our preaching is vain, and our faith is vain? (1 Cor 15,14). The
simple evocation of these words puts the transcendence and centrality of the message of the resurrection before it, placing it at the most
intimate of the meaning of the Christian offer. It is good to note that any reflection on the resurrection is always limited, as well as the
confusion that exists in some Christians in believing that the resurrection consists, uniquely and fundamentally, in the revivification of the
body of Jesus, as if Jesus after being killed on the cross simply returned to the same conditions of his previous life.
The resurrection implies a broad spectrum of faith. On this occasion we want to choose, due to the circumstances that surround us,
to understand that it is an act of justice on the part of God in front of the life of Jesus, and before those who tortured and murdered him.

the resurrection is simply what God already planned. To wait on God is the best. God has a plan for each one of us
