Beware of this scammer. He is using my name aksing people for 20 SBD. Maybe he is trying other scams too, that I have no knowledge of. This is not me, of course...

My steemit.chat is ew.and.patterns and not ew-and-patterns

He doesn't even use my profile picture...

Pls share this so nobody gets harmed...

UPDATE: He seems to be targeting my most influential followers...

UPDATE2: Now he wants some SBD:

His wallet adress is:

poloniex
268db175fa78a5da

Can anybody somehow find out who this adress belongs to? I have found via google that he did this to other people too, and some even send him 5SBD. Its not much, but if I send him money he will do it again to somebody else...

Thank you for reporting this.
His account on steemit.chat is deactivated.
In cases like this please report on steemit.chat to one of moderators or admins or on #steemitabuse channel.

You can also contact me directly on chat as Gandalf.

This guy posts like a complete buffoon. Reminds me a lot of scammers from developing countries. The pattern totally fits. These people should be crushed but there really aren't any people who'd fall for this. This is on the same level as BitConnect.

Resteemed to spread the message. I feel sorry for anyone who thought you'd be asking for tiny bits of SBD. You could just self-vote and earn more than that. Poor suckers, just don't give them a penny.

How do we expose this scammer, this kind of behavior is dangerous to the progress of a platform like this. Sorry sir.

The scammming little ducker. Track him down and burn him.

Horrible.... but on the other hand everyone should know, that the real @ew-and-patterns would never ask for 20SBD - you would ask for 50, right! ;)))

Yeah... Here is they guy.

Reported.

I say burn 'em raw mate!!

Damn I hate those scammers I will flag him :(

That is cool of you but how you will flag someone on steeemit.chat?

Why bother with flagging? For things like this account is immediately deactivated when reported.

Yes your right but my question is how he will flag someone on steemit.chat because as far as I know you can't flag someone on steemit.chat.
I think he don't know it so I gave him that question to think about what he just wrote.

This is sadly a very common scam on the steemit.chat, since it does not require any form of identification if you create a new user there. This problem will be around until they implement Steemconnect there (I asked the owner, but don't get any answer why they haven't done it).

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear that it is happening to you as well.. Sadly the best thing you can do is to report it to the moderators, and keep your followers informed so they don't get scammed.

There's already working proof of concept for that and have been tested, however it has also some challenges. Currently you can come to chat to talk about issues with logging in into Steem, troubles with Steemit signups, etc. Unfortunately it doesn't support mixed or multi level authorization schemes so the only way is to drop all users that can't for various reasons log in on Steem.
(... and frankly I don't think it's a bad idea... )

Thanks for taking the time to clarify it, @gtg! I do hope that this solution will be more functional in the future, because I feel like I am reading about this exact type of scam every week or so, and it seems to be a big issue.
