The way in which technologies should evolve in the food industry

Within the food industry have been incorporated new technological sources that help the diversity of food processing processes in their different forms of processing. These technologies take a relieved importance, since with the knowledge that they had in the past they do not manage to reach the standards of quality demanded in the actuality.

As the demands of the world food demand have been increasing, it has been necessary to incorporate new technologies that help to study the behavior of unicellular organisms that act in the decomposition of food, for this new technologies must carry with them what I consider the most relevant point, and it is nothing more than the science of linked physics and chemistry that the latest generation equipments call robotic advance, even new chemical products that do not alter the health of man, towards there must be the way to travel.

What should be the areas of the food industry in which technology must be played based on current demand?

It is a reflection question that I ask myself, because knowing how big and diverse the food industry is, maybe the technology does not reach everywhere, however all attempts should be made so that at least it reaches the places where can help the storage of raw materials, production of by-products, storage of processed products, and what I consider most important distribution chains and food preservation by meeting quality standards and public health.

Many times I see how the vision of the industry is wrong to my concept, since new technologies are incorporated that reach the parts mentioned above, of course raising production and profit rates, and it is not that bad because that is why It produces to win and generate employment, but many of the new technologies are incorporated into the food industry neglecting the value of human nutrition. Everything that is produced from food must not only meet elements of profit in the markets, but respect the consumer, giving him healthy products, free of chemicals that alter his physical health.

What role do new food engineers play in the use and implementation of new technologies?

It is not an easy task that touches us once we have graduated from our universities, to convince large industries to incorporate agents increasingly organic and less chemical, that is, all our intellect, suspicion and ingenuity must be in the form that we can develop new technologies that incorporate substitutes of organic products by chemicals to preserve food, increase production and reduce production costs, and the best of the case by giving consumers quality products of high nutritional value.

The science of chemistry must look more towards the natural reactions and processes that occur when more natural and less harmful agents react to help preserve food for longer, always when I analyze my learning about the study of food technology, I think more as a consumer than as an engineer, which leads me to conclude that as long as I walk through the horizon, it will surely bring me great things.

Final considerations

Echoing the title of this article, I think that technology has existed, exists, and will exist in all areas of our lives. However, I believe that in the food industry it must exist primarily because I am one of those who believe that the food world unfortunately will enter into crisis, due to the global population growth. I only hope that the imperial high spheres and monopolies in charge of producing food do not incorporate technologies that are in decrimento of the public health, for it is better to maintain the standards that are already established.

I believe that with scientific study and effort, new technologies can be achieved in which healthy foods are generated on a large scale, contributing to environmental preservation, foods that are healthy and with high nutritional values, that path should advance the new food technologies.
