In this video, Steven Pinker, a cognitive scientist and Professor of Harvard University, talks about language as a window into the human mind.
Language has a phenomenal power. Using a series of hisses and squeaks, you can be made to think about various topics.
Currently, almost 6,000 languages are spoken on Earth. Linguistics is a complex discipline that studies how language works. It consists of various branches, including grammar, phonology, semantics, and pragmatics.
