Evolution of Science

Definition

We can say that the concept of "science" is defined as the whole of knowledge of a rational, systematic, verifiable and fallible nature, which explain social, spiritual and natural phenomena, thanks to their application we can understand the things that surround us, foresee the future and achieve a greater well-being for women and men. The concept of science comes from the Latin scientiam, before the Latin scholars there was knowledge and scientific work. We can say that in prehistory there is already pre-scientific work because of the need to search and research the tribes that had to overcome the obstacles that were presented to them. In Mesopotamia and Egypt, knowledge is organized and various specializations are initiated, agriculture, livestock, mathematics, begin in these stages of humanity as well as writing. The classical world of Greece and Rome, is a privileged moment of evolution of science and its theory, with the Greeks begins a more systematic development of science. The Roman empire comes to an end in the West and a dark period begins for science, the church dominated life and time.

Importance and development

The importance of the Universities in the development of history was very great. They contributed decisively to the development of science and served as a basis for the West to disseminate the knowledge developed previously. In the sixteenth century, there is a revival of science, Nicolas Copernico, Tycho Brahe, Johan Kepler and Galileo Galilei, completely changing the vision of the universe. But it will be the seventeenth century, when science is greatly promoted. In the eighteenth century an increasingly broad aspect of achievement is presented and these begin to interrelate, the development of illuminism arises with a figure of articulation there a series of physicists and astronomers begin to generate new knowledge. The nineteenth century, we are presented more and more with a greater number of discoveries and advances in the field of science, It follows an upward path in astrophysics, but where significant progress is made in the electric field, we can highlight Alessandro Volta who discovered and created the electric battery, then we found André Marie Ampere who creates electrodynamics.

Development over the years

In the nineteenth century we must highlight: Louis Pasteur, the bacteriologist ended up discovering that bacteria were a highly pathogenic element and the source of many diseases. Carlos Darwin the great naturalist raised the evolution of living beings, this evolution occurs through natural selection and survival of the fittest. Carlos Marx revolutionary reformer of the economy and history, the current scientific thought cannot be understood without addressing the work of this thinker, his contribution to the economy is also of great importance his concept of surplus value or real value of the work generated a current of economic thought of great influence in the world and great social sense. Sigmund Freud, was a physician and founding neurologist of the science of human or psychological behavior, Freud is one of the most important scientists for the development of medical and psychological science.

The twentieth century, was very prodigious in the advancement and development of science, especially in the fields of physics and biology but then would come a development as much or more spectacular in other areas of knowledge. Einstein, is perhaps the most famous character of the twentieth century, his main work is the theory of special and general relativity. Advances in communications at a global level are increasingly rapid and numerous so much so that it is difficult to follow their trail, something similar occurs with computing and computing, in relation to the studies of the origin of the universe and the universe in general, There is a lot of scientists and advances in this area that make accept the big bang. Science and its rapid development pose to societies important ethical and moral dilemmas, which have not yet been resolved, as a challenge for the 21st century, we think we can begin to design the idea that science and its constant development must exist a future more kind and human for human beings. According to Marc Blch, the incomprehension of the present is born fatally from the ignorance of the past, and therefore this lack of understanding of the present will not allow us to draw a better future, it is at this moment when history is a good counselor.
