Kepler Space telescope retired today

It's finally out of fuel and relegated to the status of space junk.

But what a piece of junk it is.

Checkout these awesome stats for its lifetime and achievements...

...and all these mind boggling planetary finds, and different types of systems.

Oh... such a pity! How that they did not design a way to refuel it?

I heard it was going to hyper-sleep. They could have utilized its power a little more if they did.

Aww no! :-(

this is a sad moment but we say farewel to a hero may we put another in place and continue the everlasting journey of discovery

Sad to see it shut down but what a journey.

quite incredible. love space.

Everything in this life has a useful life, and the KEPLER already fulfilled his, was a great tool that allowed us to see beyond what our eyes can see, without the many scientific advances would not have been completed, was quite a help to the field of astronomy.

I am sure that they are making a far more superior outer space-observing machine that could give more understanding for people of the future @gavvet
