RE: Electrical Brain Stimulation

in #science7 years ago

glass half empty .... or ... glass half full .... beacause humans beings have been developing their brains for about ~400k years give or take ... slowly but surely; now we want to place a dynamite bar and push it at the speed of light ? ..hummmm ... I do feel uneasy when people mess up with nature ...

Sort:

"Surgery" started as someone putting a piece of wood between someone's teeth, and hacking away at a limb with a saw. Some people called Surgeons, butchers. Science has to advance, it is nature that dictates our evolution, and science is part of that. Why do you consider it meddling with nature? Do you think a cancer patient would appreciate your slow approach?

doesn't cancer has to do more with DNA and the information it carries from one to the other? ...and this would be a different topic. By stimulating the brain I speculate you want peoples brain capacity to increase. Hey, now we will have one MUCH more smarter than other and the competition for resources will really be one of uneven proportions.

cheers

Actually, most medicines today stimulate the brains to produce/block certain chemicals/enzymes/proteins which helps the healing process, this stimulation might be done with electric current in the future without the need for medicine. We might be able to kill cancer cells by growing our brain capacity to produce cancer cells killers.

Isnt "nature" everything we do? If we, human beings© made by nature since 500k years ago develop insane skills thanks to our..well, brain, which is natural - isnt that natural?
