What is Salt?

Salt have different meanings as written below

it is a common substance, chemically consisting mainly of sodium chloride (NaCl), used to add flavour to food and as a preservative.

In chemistry term it is one of the compounds formed from the reaction of an acid with a base, where a positive ion replaces a hydrogen of the acid.

It is also said to be a kind of marsh at the shore of a sea.

Uses of salt

  • Salt is one of the oldest method of preservation, it is used to preserve food. Let me take you back in time. When it was iron age the fisherman go farming with is hook and line then a fish is caught , to prevent the fish from spoiling he uses the salt to rub it over the body of the fish to prevent it from spoiling this is a an old method of preservation unlike the computer age where we use fridges, freezers et al to preserve food.

  • Salt can also be used in fish farming (pond).it can be used to weaken cat fish. You might be surprised to read this but if you are a fish farmer you will know this. Cat fish is a fresh water animal and salt is harmful to its body so to prevent the fish from harming you with its whisker. You use the salt pour it on the fish weaks the fish and then you can have your fish.

  • Do you know Salt can be harmful to the human system?
It can also cause some bad damages to the internal organs of the human body

Yes it can.

Based on my research salt contain a chemical called sodium chloride.
This chemical can prevent the human bone to get the necessary calcium and this can lead to a particular sickness called OSTEOPOROSIS { a particular disease that happens mostly to woman in the age of menopause this illness makes the woman bone extremely porous and lead to fracture OSTEOPOROSIS.

  • Salt can also cause damage to kidney. Too much intake of salt is responsible for worsening the state of human kidney. It increases the blood pressure and leads to some chemical formation in the human kidney.

Too much of salt can also lead to
  • STROKE

  • HEART FAILURE HEART ATTACK and hypertension.

People are at the risk of having health problems related to too much intake of salt

  • Human above the age 50

  • People who have high blood pressure
