Asymmetric Security Ltd. at Science Park

Asymmetric Security Ltd. was founded in Hong Kong on 27 March 2020 by May Pak and John Jackson. The company specializes in Artificial Intelligent Physical Security Systems.

Asymmetric Security Ltd. signed a contract with Hong Kong Science Technology Park on 15 April 2020. We are now officially in the Startup Program sponsored by the Hong Kong government.

Existing Physical Security Systems are vulnerable to a myriad of attacks. Many of these attacks are easily accomplished by teenagers who publish their techniques on Internet videos. Intelligence agencies hire specialists to discover lock and system defeat methods and apparatus, hopefully leaving behind no forensic evidence of a breakin. Artificial Intelligence can easily detect attempts to breach the system and gain unauthorized entry. This means all of the sensors and the network itself should be Smart for maximum effectiveness.

However, Legacy components can be integrated into our system. That means we can retrofit a system using existing hardware and still gain huge advantages. Smart components can be installed as needed to harden the system.

Office buildings usually have extensive Ethernet systems installed. Asymmetric Security can connect its AI embedded equipment to the established network using the existing infrastructure without rewiring the entire building. We can also install a private “Intranet”, to create an infrastructure completely disconnected from the IoT.

We have our own complete hardware and software system with embedded AI. Industry components can also be connected into our physical security network, although it will not be as robust. Our system prefers to integrate video monitoring as well. This provides for the prospect of facial recognition by the AI.

No guards are necessary to monitor the system. And, single point attacks on a “Command Center” will not take down the entire system, since the AI lives on the network.
