Mathematics is a word consisting of ten letters that are considered to evoke emotions, ranging from dislike and anxiety, to fear. They will imagine complicated and difficult numbers to figure out, hard-to-understand and understandable formulas.

Mathematics is also often understood as something absolute so as if there is no possibility of different ways to answer a problem. Mathematics is understood as something completely certain. Students who study at school too, accept math lessons as something that must be precise and one bit can not be wrong. Thus, mathematics becomes a burden and even becomes something scary.

According to James Drever (1986: 346), horror or fear, something uncontrollable which is generally due to the abnormal nature of a particular situation and object.

Many myths are misleading about mathematics. These false myths, contributed greatly in making some people feel allergic even not like mathematics. As a result, the majority of our students get less than the maximum value for this subject, not because of not able, but because from the beginning have felt allergies and fear so never or lazy to learn math.

Many mythical heresies are rooted and create a negative perception of mathematics, among others: Mathematics is the science of memorization of the many formulas. This myth makes the learner, lazy to learn it and finally do not understand anything.

In fact, the true Mathematics is not the science of memorizing the formula, because without understanding the concept, the formula that has been memorized will not be useful. For example, a person who knows the formula of quadratic equations will not be able to answer the problem, if not able to model the matter into the form of quadratic equations.

In fact, only a few mathematical formulas are necessary (but not necessarily) memorized, whereas most of the other formulas do not need to be memorized but quite understandable of the concept.

Mathematics is an abstract science and not related to reality. This myth is clearly misguided, because the facts show that Mathematics is very realistic. In a sense, Mathematics is a form of analogy of everyday reality.

The simplest example is a intelligent robot capable of thinking of a program called an expert system (expert system) based on the Fuzzy Mathematical concept. Aerodynamic counts for aircraft and GPS concepts are also based on mathematical models, geometry, and calculus. Almost all modern economic and banking theories are created through mathematics.

Mathematics is a boring, rigid and unresponsive science. This assumption is obviously mistaken. Although the answer (solution) of mathematics feels exact because the single solution, does not mean math is rigid and boring. Although the answer (solution) is only one (singular), the method or method of solving math problems can actually vary.

At least answering and undermining the myths that developed during the hustle and bustle of mathematics learning, especially in Primary and Secondary Schools, is made in such a way as to make learning mathematics fun and not boring.

Due to the a priori overuse of mathematics, there are several causes among which are the excessive emphasis on formula recitation, counting speed, authoritarian teaching methods (less varied) in the learning process and teaching mathematics. To overcome this, a very important role is the teacher of mathematics, who must be able to change the teaching methods for learners in the learning process without overriding the short-term and long-term goals of mathematics learning.

The short-term goal of mathematics learning is that learners are expected to understand the mathematical material they are learning and can use it in other lessons or real life and supplies to the next level of education. The long-term goal is that learners can take math values and apply them to life.

The values in question are reasoning, discipline, honesty, kebertanggung answers, solidarity and others. Mathematics is not just a sum, subtraction, division and multiplication activity. Learning mathematics in the present era should be applicable and in accordance with the needs of life. Mathematics should be familiar with topics and issues familiar to everyday life (how children interpret mathematics).

Because mathematics is a unique lesson, it takes a unique skill as well to conquer it. To learn math learners must understand, first need a strong active learning.

Mathematics is not just a lesson to calculate, but math is a lesson that trains our logic for problem solving. The trick is to familiarize our brain to solve the problems, the same as solving the problems of life.

We must actively practice our ability to solve problems, so that if we encounter any problems, we can solve them well.

Mathematics is cumulative. In learning math what will you learn tomorrow, if you miss something you will hardly catch up the next material will continue to miss.

This is why, many people easily fail in learning mathematics. Third, Focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing. Memorizing all the formulas is a bad idea. Understanding the concept is an absolute thing for us in learning mathematics. If we do not understand the concept, by holding all the books that exist in the world, or carrying the formula notes, we still will not be able to solve math problems well.

Fourth, create a vocabulary list & mathematical formula to make learning easier. One trick that can be used is to create a list of vocabulary and formulas that exist in mathematics, and often read to understand and remember the meaning and purpose.

Fifth, do the recording well and clearly. If the difficulty of learning mathematics, making notes with only certain points obviously just a waste of time. Make a comprehensive note, note important things that are sometimes not written by teachers on the board.

Notice the teacher's emphasis, grab the core concepts and formulas, make yourself understood by rewriting it with your own language. Sixth, do the exercises and homework well.

Exercise or PR assignments will often be given in learning math. The tasks are given to encourage learners to develop skills and familiarize themselves with the concepts and solving of mathematical problems.

If you want to master mathematics, stop complaining about the many problems, and start doing. Do not cheat easily! The tip is to do this task while the lesson is still fresh in memory, for example immediately after class finished or on the same day.

Do it in detail, pay attention to every troubleshooting step you take. Smart Buddies, to learn math is to experience it. Understand the concept, solve the problem, use all the methods and formulas that you know. The key is: Exercise, practice, and practice.
