Naturally fractured deposits are defined as those hydrocarbon deposits whose production is influenced by the presence of fractures.

The flow of fluids through fractured porous media has received a strong boost in recent years, its importance is due to the fact that the most prolific hydrocarbon deposits in the world are naturally fractured, and high-interest commercial finds are still being made in this type of deposits

They are known as fractures, those flat discontinuities in the material that make up the rock, can be microscopic or macroscopic, they appear because the efforts of confinement to which the rock has been subjected, are superior to the rupture efforts.

There are methods of characterizing fractures inside a well, such as the Image Registry.

The image registers allow to define those characteristics of the fracture system that influence the productivity of the well. The orientation, density, opening and distribution of the fractures can be counted as such characteristics.

The image registration consists essentially of visualizing the walls of the hole by means of a tool that is inserted in said hole at a depth of interest and the tool acquires by means of four skids spaced at 90 ° which covers a 360 ° coverage and In turn, these skates contain sensors that register information from the interior of the well.
