RE: The Rogue Dr. Broom

in #science7 years ago

Thanks for sharing this @gavvet, Dr Broom definitely had some strange methods to say the least.

To me, there seems to be a correlation between strange traits like this and scientific discoveries in the past. I have read about other scientists and anatomists doing similar things (although they were never as extreme as having bodies buried in their garden) in order to get access to human remains.

I don't agree with these methods, I imagine that a lot of others don't, but I guess without some people like this, a lot of scientific discoveries would not have been made; it really is a double edged sword.

Thanks again for sharing this, it was really interesting to read!

You would be surprised by how modern anatomy and medicine emerged.

Broom was just doing things that had been done before but were no longer considered necessary by the modern scientific community.

Yes I've looked in to it a lot, it's all a bit crazy looking at it from a more modern age perspective, but I guess that's just the way that it was back then.

I would really appreciate your support on my latest Steemit community project, the Steemit Success Initiative. I'll be announcing more details soon, but I'm soon going to try and raise funds to open an in person Blogger's hub to get more people on to Steemit. If you're interested, would you be available to talk over Steemit Chat or Discord?

Sir ,i hope you will visit my blog someday, and support me :( newbie here
