Those of you who are fans of the science fiction writer Isaac Asimov will have heard of the three laws of robotics, namely:

• First Law: A robot cannot harm a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

• Second Law: A robot must obey orders given by humans, except if these orders conflict with the First Law.

• Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence to the extent that this protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Aquellos que seáis fans del escritor de ciencia ficción Isaac Asimov habréis oído hablar de las tres leyes de la robótica, a saber:

• Primera Ley: Un robot no puede dañar a un ser humano o, por inacción, permitir que un ser humano sufra daño.

• Segunda Ley: Un robot debe obedecer las órdenes dadas por los seres humanos, excepto si estas órdenes entran en conflicto con la Primera Ley.

• Tercera Ley: Un robot debe proteger su propia existencia en la medida en que esta protección no entre en conflicto con la Primera o la Segunda Ley.

Google staff believes that the fusion of artificial intelligence with robotics is imminent, which is why its subsidiary company DeepMind has presented what could be called the "Robot Constitution" which consists of a series of standards and training methods that have special care not to harm human beings.

Until now, all these humanoid robots have been operating in controlled laboratory environments, but now some companies are already including these robots in their workforce and it is necessary to reinforce security and take appropriate measures to avoid unpleasant incidents in work and/or home environments.

Along these lines, Google DeepMind has developed the AutoRT, SARA-RT and RT-Trajectory models, designed so that robots equipped with artificial intelligence can make faster and safer decisions in real environments where they coexist with human beings. AutoRT is a data collection system that uses a visual language model (VLM) and a large language model (LLM).

En esta línea Google DeepMind ha desarrollado los modelos AutoRT, SARA-RT y RT-Trajectory, diseñados para que los robots dotados inteligencia artificial puedan tomar decisiones más rápidas y seguras en entornos reales de convivencia con seres humanos. AutoRT es un sistema de recopilación de datos que utiliza un modelo de lenguaje visual (VLM) y un modelo de lenguaje grande (LLM).

Google conducted tests for seven months in four office buildings with a total of 53 basic robots, a robotic arm with a camera and a single mobile base, which performed 6,650 different tasks, some controlled remotely by human operators, others using a script previously programmed and others operating completely autonomously.

The second module called SARA-RT consists of a neural network architecture that has been designed so that its Robotic Transformer RT-2 model increases its speed and precision, the third RT-Trajectory module incorporates two-dimensional contours to help the robot perform specific physical tasks.
