Extremophile organisms are microorganisms that live in extreme conditions that would be lethal to most known life forms, their abilities to survive in extreme conditions include their resistance to extremely high or low temperatures, high salinity, extreme acidity or alkalinity, high pressure, and other inhospitable environments.

One of the most inhospitable environments for life is the exterior of the International Space Station (ISS), which orbits above our heads at 400 km high and where temperatures fluctuate between 120 ºC and -100 ºC, in addition to the exposure continues to cosmic rays without any protection from the Earth's atmosphere or any other type.

That is why scientists have used this environment to test the resistance of these extremophile organisms and to do so, the scientists who are members of the ISS crew have been "seeding" all types of microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi, on the outside of the space station to check its resistance.
Por eso los científicos han utilizado este entorno para comprobar la resistencia de estos organismos extremófilos y para ello los científicos miembros de la tripulación de la ISS han ido "sembrando" todo tipo de microorganixmos, entre ellos bacteria y hongos, en el exterior de estación espacial para comprobar su resistencia.
That is why NASA has now entrusted astronauts Tracy Dyson and Matt Dominick with a mission consisting of a spacewalk around the ISS in search of any of these Extremophile organisms that have survived for years in such an extremely inhospitable environment, in a mission scheduled for next June 24.
Por eso ahora la NASA ha encomendado a los astronautas Tracy Dyson y Matt Dominick una misión consistente en una paseo espacial por los alrededores de la ISS en busca de alguno de estos organismos extremófilos que hayan sobrevivido durante años en un ambiente tan sumamente inhóspito, en una misión programada para el próximo 24 de junio.

On this spacewalk, the astronauts will collect samples from the outside of the International Space Station that will then be lowered to Earth to be analyzed and check if there is still an organism that has survived alive in such deplorable conditions for any type of living being and for a long period of time.
En este paseo espacial los astronautas recolectarán muestras del exterior de la Estación Espacial Internacional que después se bajarán a tierra para ser analizadas y comprobar si todavía existe algún organismo que haya resistido con vida en unas condiciones tan deplorables para cualquier tipo de ser vivo y durante un largo periodo de tiempo.
Once the results are known, we will be able to know what type of organisms to look for if we want to check if there is life outside our planet in environments that may be just as inhospitable. It is not necessary to find little green men with antennas, a simple microorganism that we found that was not contaminated by us, outside of Earth, it would be enough to start a hell of a schism.
Una vez conocidos los resultados podremos saber que tipo de organismos buscar si queremos comprobar si hay vida fuera de nuestro planeta en entornos que puedan ser igual de inhóspitos, no hace falta encontrar hombrecillos verdes con antenas, un simple microoganismo que encontrásemos que no fuese contaminado por nosotros fuera de la Tierra ya daría para montar un cisma del carajo.
