Top brain training game
From the perspective of someone who’s looking to prevent Alzheimer’s disease, there are a few interesting things to note about the brain-training game phenomenon. First, it turns out that a lot of the scientific claims supporting the idea that brain-training games make you smarter are based on flawed studies and limited evidence that have been called into question by objective scientists.
However, these same objective scientists have not widely doubted the effectiveness of brain-training games in preventing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Why not? Because there’s actually some good evidence to suggest that they can do exactly that. If you’re looking to transform yourself into the next Einstein, playing brain-training games may be a fool’s errand. But, if you’re interested in preventing Alzheimer’s by keeping the neural connections in your brain strong, then games that challenge your working memory and mental agility can be an important part of your plan (along with eating a nutrients-rich diet, getting plenty

Eidetic-
Eidetic’s tagline is both broad and specific: “Learn and remember anything.” Scientific studies of the way the brain learns have demonstrated unequivocally that repetition is key to getting a new piece of information to be designated for long-term storage in your memory. By employing a technique called “spaced repetition,” the Eidetic app helps you learn and remember all manner of interesting words and facts
Countdown-
Train your mental calculation and multi-step processing skills by discovering the math formulas. The game presents various numbers and four standard mathematical functions: +,-, x, and /. You’ll choose the right combination of numbers and math functions to achieve the target answer. From time to time you will need to perform intermediate operations in the process
Private Eye-
You think you may be better than Sherlock Holmes or Inspector Clouseau? Well then, pull out your cloak and magnifying glass and exercise your sleuthing instincts with this conundrum. You will need a discriminating eye to peruse the grid full of intricate symbols and letters, and catch the sneaky suspect that does not belong. Find the impostor before the clock runs out. You can challenge yourself with various versions and levels of difficulty.
Split Words-
You're searching for the name of a flower. It's on the tip of your tongue. You know it starts with "am..." What is it? As quickly as possible, form complete words by combining syllables or fragments from the game table. Target words are categorized into themes and you have a choice of working with two or three syllables/fragments.
Entangled Figures-
In this game, you see three entangled objects, like flowers, fruit, animals, geometrical figures, or amoebas, which taken together make up a more complex object. These three entangled graphical objects are compared to a multiple choice of similar or different objects that are possible components of the complex entangled figure. You must choose the one that is part of the entangled figure.
To choose the correct object, you must mentally disentangle the complex figure into its component parts. This task is easier with identifiable objects or geometrical figures, but it is harder with abstract figures. An object seen in its typical context is more easily recognized than one that is isolated. One way to figure out the different components is to look carefully at the separate elements and then mentally visualize them together into one figure.
Identification is easier when the figures are meaningful (objects, geometrical figures), so details are more relevant than the analysis of the whole figure. However, recognition will be more difficult with abstract figures.
Shapes and Colors-
Strengthen your visual memory with this game. You must first memorize 6, 8 or 10 figures of various shapes and colors and then recognize them among slightly different ones.
Writing in the Stars-
Heavenly inspiration is required for this new twist on the old cross-word puzzle. You are given a list of nine words. Only six of them connect with each other to form the six point star.
The Squeaking Mouse-
Strengthen your visual and auditory memory with this game. In this exercise, you are asked to match the cries, songs or noises of animals with their photographs. You will see visual images of the animals on the screen and hear a familiar call of the wild. In many cases, you will be able to match the visual image to the sound almost immediately. In other cases, you will need some time.
To help the matching process, you will hear a short sound sequence, followed by a longer sound sequence. To make it more interesting you can choose a theme (In the forest, at the farm, by the water, in Africa or around the world). You can also choose to play with 6, 8 or 10 animal sounds. It's your choice.
The Right Word-
Train your memory and enrich your vocabulary in this increasingly challenging game where you are asked to find which words correspond to the given definitions. This is not as simple as it sounds because even if the definition reminds you of a familiar word, you may not be able to recall the word. You may also find that some of the words are unfamiliar. You are given the option to choose a version with or without a clue.
Switch hands-
Try performing normal daily tasks with the opposite hand. Brush your teeth, use a fork, draw a picture or throw a ball with your non-dominant hand. This causes the mind to work differently and can create new pathways in the brain.
Close your eyes-
Another way to get the mind to focus differently is by closing your eyes while doing routine activities. Try taking a bath, brushing your teeth, eating your breakfast or drawing a picture with your eyes closed
Do a puzzle.-
Crossword puzzles, mazes, word searches and other games strengthen your mind and sharpen your thinking.
Memory games-
Memory games are some of the best brain exercises and they can be done anywhere. Try playing some fun memory games in the car while you are driving your children to school and get the whole family involved.
