The days are getting longer on earth !

Whenever someone asks the question "How many hours in a day ?" , the answer would come in reflex.

We stubbornly say 24 hrs and smartest even say the no of seconds that make a day. But guess what, our day is getting increased by 1/75,000 seconds per day.

Lol! that might be very small but let's know the science behind it.

Earth had an 18.7-hour rotational period 1.4 billion years ago. Moon used to be at a particular position when it is formed but because of gravitational reflective force, the moon is moving farther from earth.

A geoscientist explained that 'As the moon moves away from earth, the earth slows down as they stretch their arms out just like a spinning figure skater'.

Maybe the time-frame 24 hours would stay the same for the longer time until the difference come in hours.

After reaching a particular spot the moon would stop moving further as the forces on either side become equal.Let's see how long the day would be ??
