Nice post! It always seemed weird to me that urine is supposed to be sterile. So I rather thought they meant it is sterile at the time it drips down the ureters into the bladder and from there it has to pick up some microbes. Now it's proven :-)
I think that urine does pick up a few more microbes as it exits the body, but it definitely harbors active cultures while its in the body as well. Thanks for the comment!
