Smog into Diamonds
Daan Roosegaarde is a Dutch artist and innovator. He defines himself as "creative thinker and maker of social designs which explore the relation between people, technology, and space." He has used architecture degree and experiences building a business to create prototypes for the future, a smart and sustainable future. The Smart Highway, Waterlicht and Smog Free Project are his defining inventions.
His newest invention creates diamonds out of smog, they sell a smog-free ring on his website. His goal is to create technology that will help out planet and out health. Air pollution is a problem in multiple places around the world. The most popular place is China. Where 17% of people die from air pollution. In Beijing the smog that follows the city is mainly constructed of two particle types when breathed in it can cause damage to the blood and lungs. PM2.5 and PM10. Particle Matter 2.5 is referencing the size of the matter, less that 2.5 microns in diameter. PM 10 means between 2.5 microns and 10 microns.
Smog Free Tower, removes those particles from the air near the tower, rendering it 75% cleaner. Locals, tourist, and according to the locals, bunnies enjoy the clean air. Sadly it only works on a small local level, but imagine... bigger towers?

Brilliant. We need more clever solutions like this. Have you seen the guys in India who are making ink from exhaust fumes?
no but I am going to look it up now! got a good link?
This is a very important development.
And a number of possibilities may arise from following the same methodology to produce processes beneficial similar issues of what can best be termed 'particulate pollutants'.
Resteemed. Thanks for sharing! ^_^
