Could a label on food tell you if it's gone bad?
Chemistry shows that this far-fetched idea might not actually be as crazy as we believe. Antioxidant content and the presence of toxic molecules can already be detected, however the compounds that are produced when meat is degrading is now being targeted. What do people think about this subject?
Pretty cool. "Best by" dates are pretty much a hock of crap since plenty of food may last a very long time. It's really only relevant when food has already gone bad. So it would be great to see a label like that.
