Jacque Fresco - The Mechanistic Point of View

in #science7 years ago

The words "talent" and "instinct" are used quite often, but what do they tell us about how a person achieved a certain result or an animal went through a certain behavior? In this short clip, Jacque Fresco describes how a mechanistic point of view looks at the world, and how the language we still use today - of a boat "sailing" and a plant "growing" - does not correspond with our scientific understanding of the physical processes going on in these situations.

When I watched this video for the first time, I was wondering how dafaq are we still using such an inefficient medium of exchanging information.

Then I realized how normal were these inefficiencies for me before being exposed to a different perspective. Later, I observed others and recognized that it's same for them. And most people just die without noticing the cracks in ground.
I am glad to be exposed to Jacque and @thevenusproject :D
