Vitanium Wars: Madelyn "Elf-Girl" Hamilton

in #sciencefiction8 years ago (edited)

The human woman known as Madelyn Hamilton was one of the first victims of the Taskarov Mutator Nano-Plague. This made her tall, thin, graceful, and gave her what some would define as "elven" features. In addition to this she is a very accomplished Wizard, with no less than 4 spheres of power. Currently she works as a Caterer, with her base of operations being somewhere in midtown KC. Her daughter, Tiffany "Lil Tiff" Hamilton currently exists as a legal non-entity, with no official certifications, criminal or medical records.
Like many Wizards in the new era, she is well known for her versatility. Not only on the battlefield, but also in her ability to survive at all costs.
There are rumors that she works with and for the Alley Cat Broker known only as "Emil". Despite claims that he is an only child, it is rumored that he has a twin sister named Danielle, but this, like so many other things involving Mage Class in the new era, this is mostly conjecture. What little video footage of these persons that does exist is downplayed as just a series of hoaxes by all experts in the field of D-PROM (Digitally Programmed Read Only Memory), and also in the fields of analog, older digital and HGVO (High Grade Digital Video).
Madelyn does very little to draw attention to herself. She does not dance, sing, act, or do any form of performance art, instead preferring to live a quiet life of study when not home schooling her daughter or working as a Caterer.

Does this sound like an interesting character to you? Please reply and let me know.

Why a caterer? Is my only question.

But yeh. It sounds good!

"Caterer" is her official job title. She, like so many others actually does a variety of things, a lot of which are jobs that do not officially exist. She's actually a mercenary for hire, specializing in search and rescue and private security, all of which is under the table. Most of those in private security in the world of Vitanium Wars do more than just normal security work, a lot of which could be regarded as gray market or black market work.

And i assume catering gives her the ability to have public exposure in a variety of settings without gaining the attention of "enemies"?

Oh yes.
Emil keeps her safe when it comes to unwanted documentation, and the rest of her team helps her out in a variety of ways.

All the professional mercenaries out there know each other or of each other, and with death being less permanent, killing is not the easiest option anymore. And in fact can serve as a missed opportunity because there are organizations that pay out ransoms, and with the right insurance, it is guaranteed that the right email or phone call can insure the right transfer of funds to certain secret offshore accounts that technically do not exist. Of course there's always the chance that the dead rival could come back as something much worse and more powerful than any mere mortal out there...
