Lossiemouth: A Beautiful and Unlikely Destination

Lossiemouth, UK. Heard of it? Didn’t think so!

Deciding to come here wasn’t difficult. My partner and I had an opportunity to spend some extended time in this unlikely place and we haven’t regretted it for a single second.

So what is Lossiemouth? It’s a small fishing town that was once the main port belonging to nearby Elgin. Honestly, there’s not much to the town: lots of residential area, a few pubs, and one EXCELLENT fishmonger (seriously, you walk in though a plastic curtain off the road and holler for someone who gives you the most delicious and fresh fish!). But most importantly, it has the most beautiful beach I’ve probably ever seen.

If the beach wasn’t enough, there’s also a paved cycle path to the next town, with a lovely castle on the way.

And less than a two hour drive away is Cairngorms National Park.

It’s alright here.
