So... that was a very significant break on my part (~ 2 years).

I've been thinking quite a bit about what I want to do, I've realised that I don't care much for street photography, which is what I started out with, it's cool when it works and you get really dedicated to it, it doesn't turn me on as much as I thought though.

I think I managed to capture an atmosphere here. Catching the light at the right time of day really makes a difference.

I wont say that I've completely lost interest, but I yearn to do something more deliberate, something that gives me more control of my environment.

So what about computer games?

I've lost count of how many times I've played Mass Effect 2. I always liked the visuals of the game, it even beats out Mass Effect 3 at times.

Taking screenshots isn't technically photography (I'll elaborate on that later), but it provides an opportunity to practise composition and your eye for what works in a frame. (This is how I justify playing computer games all day long anyway:)

Can't really take credit for the composition here, Bioware did it, I just added a little DOF effect to the foreground.

I've been playing around with this for a while now, and I find it very engaging.

This blog is all about finding a creative outlet, and wierd as it might seem, taking screenshots like these gives me the feeling that I'm scratching that itch.

I don't think anything beats real life photography, but I do think I'm learning from screen archery as well, I'll be uploading more of these here.
