Got hacked lmao

in #security6 years ago

Someone has gotten a hold of my password of all my logins on crypto related sites they even mught have access to my emails and as such am changing all my passwords and the ip location is almost everytime an asian ip from china korea etc
i am really surprised as how they got access because i use a random password with at least 12 characters and numbers and symbols so i am gonna make a bigger password this time as i do not like it when i get hacked lmao 😂😂 whoever did this i hope they deposited some bitcoins 😂😂😂 i will also be changing my mobile number because who knows those guys might know an ss7 vunarability.

i urge everyone to keep their devices and logins safe do not leave them on apps keep them offline and make sure to keep fing or similar app installed to alert you of intruders in your wifi and most important use a different password for all websites

Don't forget to scan your devices with an anti-virus.

hi @rentmoney

Which anti-virus would you personally recommend?

I just use the free version of AVG.

I did have the paid for version of McAfee at one point and that seemed to work well but the Free AVG seems to meet my needs so no point in paying for something we can get for free.

avast seems better at finding viruses although it heavily consumes ram

Already done it thanks my passwords were leaked from server side i know because i keep a close watch on apps running in backgrounf when i am online mostly to maximize my download speed and most passes arent even saved i input them manually

Hi @khussan

How did you find out that you were hacked? Damn. That's scary.

Yes they were stupid enough to keep the passwords unchanged

through login notifications via email

Have you ever used a password manager like Lastpass. Been using it for years with no problems. Just a thought.
In the new days of Crypto we have to be so carfull. Hope you get it sorted out with no losses.

No i am probably gonna save them all offline now since all my passwords are now random letters and numbers

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes but the big problem of keeping them off line you can't just copy and paste. And that can become very frustrating especially with long random strings that you can't remember. I have never heard of a password manager being hacked have you?

i'll burn them into my memeory and you should keep an eye on the hacker news

Plus i don't trust password managers they are prone to being hacked as well if that happens all my passwords will be leaked at once

Hi @khussan...sorry to hear that buddy but i guess this should remind us all to keep details of our account very safe and also secure them with extra log in functions like the use of sms and google authentication to give us extra security.
Happy new year buddy :)

Thanks mate and yeah keeping login details secure is one pf my priorities i think i became victim to bruteforce attack otherwise my passwords would not have been used
